Meeting opened with the discussion of Action Items

Action items list:

  • John will look over the reconciliation report for May 2021 we just received today.
  • The house on the corner at the entrance to the neighborhood was recently sold and the lawn has gotten completely out of control.  However, it was noted that the lawn has since been mowed since the initial action item list was put together.
  •  The least healthy tree out of the trees replaced by the HOA a few years ago isn’t in great shape.
    • The board voted to replace it this fall and the landscaping company will dig up the old one and replant a replacement.  Brooke will do some shopping/pricing to match the other trees as best as possible. 
  • Discussion on progress on sign replacement:
    • Randy is working getting quotes and those quotes will include hauling away the old sign.
    • Quote status on new sign project:
      • Randy got one quote so far and will forward to the board. 
      • Randy is in contact with another sign company, Orca signs, and should have a quote from them soon. 
    • Randy will touch base with Steve K, an owner in the neighborhood to discuss if he can do any of the metal work for the new sign if that’s the route we end up going as he had previously offered a few years back.
    • Brooke – will send a message out to Maple Valley facebook group to see if they could recommend any sign companies we could get some more quotes from
  • Catio request – once we receive the request and plans the board will vote.
  • Neighborhood clean-up of wetland area:  
    • The board will follow up with Ben to see the status of plans for this.

Open Discussion:

  • What to do about yards/planting areas that have excessive weeds: 
    • John will follow up with Century 21 to get guidance from them on how to appropriately handle this and to see, if needed, would they be able to send out letters to homeowners that would refer back to our CC&Rs.
  • Landscaping – Randy to contact their company
    • Randy will be in contact with our landscaping company to:
      • Cut back/trim bushes behind the mailboxes that are growing out onto the sidewalk
      • See if they would work on cutting the raspberry bushes growing in the wetland area.
